Synopsis

Beautiful Brightwell Lake, set in an ancient country estate, faces an uncertain future. The surrounding land is being annexed for sprawling development, the old estate house and buildings are becoming difficult and costly to maintain. Its Second World War pilot hero owner wants to fight back ... but how? While the picture looks bleak, help is at hand in the unlikely form of a legendary big carp which has been hunted by two generations of fishermen, plus an unexpected intervention from the distant past. Wartime bravery, romance and determination to save a threatened piece of old England all play their part in this engaging story, which is the stand-alone first part of the Brightwell Trilogy (part two, 'Looking for Lucie', is available as a paperback and Kindle ebook. The third part is expected in Autumn 2013.
