These stories are written around a group of colourful young creatures that live and play together on an exotic island close to the ocean. The Jumbalees behave like human children. They work together even when they disagree as they make their way through exciting and sometimes scary adventures. Their social interactions help prepare them for dealing with others and the world around them, and their loyalty and humour allow them to overcome the obstacles they face. The Jumbalees’ adventures always have a happy ending, and they always end up as friends. The Jumbalees set off for a night’s camping in the forest. A loud wailing in the night scares them. What kind of animal could it be?

About the Author:
After completing a post-graduate course at Bristol University in Radio, Film and Television Production I started my career in art as an animator in 1970 with a company called Halas & Batchelor. The first major series I animated for was The Jackson 5ive. Over the past 40 years I have worked as a key animator on many TV commercials and series, including Superted, The Beatrix Potter collection, The Animals of Farthing Wood, The Forgotten Toys, Snailsbury Tales and more. I have also animated on the feature films, Watership Down, The Twelve Tasks of Asterix, and, Lucky Luke and the Daltons. Since 2000 I have worked as an Animation Director on several television series including, Little Monsters (cartoon), The Likeaballs, The Dorkhunters from Outer Space, Zorro, Generation Z and the third series of Horrid Henry. I wrote and designed the Jumbalees stories originally as an animated film project although the books are an excellent medium to present the stories and illustrations.
