I've been described as creating a new crime genre- the marine mystery because all my books are set around the sea, mainly the Solent. I enjoy writing fast paced novels with lots of action. My detective, DI Andy Horton, is a brave earthy character tough as a container ship, having dredged through the sludge of life's sewerage since childhood. He seeks solace in the fresh sea breeze, which blocks out the stench of his own personal injustices and helps him to cope with fighting crime on the mean streets of Portsmouth. I hope you enjoy reading about him as much as I love creating him.
