From the Author:
There are plenty of books on battleships, cruisers, destroyers and other RN ships, even on MLs and MGBs. There are also many books on Minesweepers - Algerines, MMSs, even trawlers. But little has been written about the class of small minesweepers, built for the Royal navy in the USA, known as BYMSs - British Yard Mine Sweepers.

This 420 page softback book is now available. It covers the ships, the men who served on them (mainly members of the Royal Naval Patrol Service); builders and building; experiences of the men on the Atlantic crossings to fetch them, in America, and taking them to war; mines and minesweeping; the operations in all theatres (Newfoundland, NW Europe, West Africa, the Med, SE Asia); plus a complete BYMS listing, with as detailed service service and movement record as has been possible to compile. Not only a good read, it is also a useful research tool. The book draws on many original documents and features contributions by shipmates themselves, together with over 200 photographs plus diagrams, sketchmaps and charts.

Please note the the RNSPA will receive a contribution from the sale of each copy sold.
