I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed writing it. As usual I have aimed to make the story as true to life as possible, drawing from my own experiences on our Exmoor hill farm.
The story runs through some turbulent times in farming's recent history, with terrible weather, foot and mouth disease and a lot of financial problems. Don't worry, the story isn't all doom and gloom! There are plenty of lighter moments - as well as excitement and humour - and, of course, a happy ending.
Chris, my husband, has done plenty of beautiful illustrations for the book - one for each chapter heading and a few more besides!
