About the Author
Professor Anthony D Woolf is Professor of Rheumatology at the Peninsula Medical School, Universities of Exeter & Plymouth, UK and Consultant Rheumatologist at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro, UK. He has a special clinical and research interest in the management of rheumatic diseases and osteoporosis. He is involved in various activities to improve patient management through characterising the burden of these diseases, developing strategies for their prevention and improving professional education. Dr Kristina Akesson is a consultant in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University Hospital in Malmo, Sweden.
