About the Author
Carpenter started riding horses at the age of 4 on her grandfather's farm. After graduating summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in mass communications, Marian worked as a daily newspaper reporter. In early 1984, she joined the Arabian Horse Times magazine staff, eventually serving as the editor. Nearly 5 years later she became promotional director for The Pyramid Society, an Egyptian Arabian horse breeders group, and moved to Kentucky. For the past several years, she has been a freelance writer who carves computer time from days jam-packed with the responsibilities of a small farm owner, 4-H horse club leader, and family member.
