Love letter found!
Author's comment: In my research for an historical novel, I've found that nothing can bring my characters more sharply alive than my reading their letters or diaries. This book was a particularly rich one for research sources. My time at King's College, Cambridge included visiting Charles Simeon's rooms, going out on the roof of the Gibbs building while the choir was practicing in King's Chapel, and visiting in my hero's and my heroine's ancestral homes. While working in the archives at Sandon Hall in the midlands (my hero's home), I discovered a letter my hero wrote the night before he proposed to my heroine—but the letter was not addressed to her, rather to God. Yes! That very special love letter is recounted in the story.
