A cougar attacks a jogger in the suburbs of a Western city. Charlie Sayers, a wildlife biologist facing retirement, is drawninto the search for the lion. He gets caught up in the conflict between wildlife habitat and an increasingly developed environment as, teetering between crisis and farce, he tries to piece together the puzzle of his own life.

About the Author:
Andrew Wingfield grew up in northern California and now lives in Alexandria, Virginia. He is on the faculty of New Century College, the integrative studies program at George Mason University. He writes and teaches to better understand how people and places shape each other. His work has appeared in "Wild Earth, The Antioch Review, Terrain, ISLE, " and other magazines.
