John H. Morrow Jr. is the Franklin Professor of History at the University of Georgia. He specializes in the history of modern Europe and of warfare and society. He has written a number of books and articles on early airpower, including The Great War in the Air: Military Aviation from 1909 to 1921 (1993, 2008). His most recent book is The Great War: An Imperial History (2004, 2005). He is presently writing a history of the Second World War.
