A revised translation of the 2nd German edition published in 1991 (the 1st English edition, published in 1986, was titled Neuroanatomy and Cranial Computed Tomography ), this extensively and brilliantly illustrated practical text-atlas reviews in detail the normal neuroanatomic features that are identified on standard computed tomograms (CT) and magnetic resonance scans (MR). The authors utilize line drawings and tracings of various CT and MR scans in addition to including appropriate MR scan images to correlate with the illustrations, making the normal anatomy more easily identifiable. In addition to the use of MR images, there are also a number of illustrations that are correlated with radiographs of thin sections of the plain skull. An extensive discussion is provided on the neuroanatomy and on a variety of common neurologic diseases and syndromes that can be identified through clinical evaluation and CT and MR correlation.
