About the Author:

Dr Ali Mohammadi is Reader in International Communication and Cultural Studies at Nottingham Trent University. He has written many articles and book chapters about the communication culture of the Middle East and Central Asia. His other books include International Communication and Globalization (Sage), Small Media and Big Revolution (University of Minnesota Press) of which he was co-author and Questioning the Media (Sage), of which he was co-editor.

Professor Anoushiravan Ehteshami is Director of the Centre for Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies and Professor of International Relations at the University of Durham. His most recent publications include The Changing Balance of Power in Asia (ECSSR), Syria and Iran: Middle Powers in a Penetrated Regional System (with Raymond Hinnebusch, Routledge), and Islamic Fundamentalism (co-editor, Westview Press).
