Synopsis
Ernest D. Martin takes Bible students into the rich text of the letter to the church at Colossae and the highly personal letter to Philemon. Martin draws on his experience as pastor, teacher, and writer to engage the reader in the complexities of the text. In commenting on Colossians, Martin highlights a wholistic Christology in contrast to the past and present perversions of the gospel. About the Author
Ernest D. Martin studied at Goshen College and its Biblical Seminary, (B.A., 1950; Th.B., 1951). He served as pastor at his home congregation, Midway Mennonite Church, Columbiana, Ohio until his retirement in 1989.
Martin served as vice-president and president of the Ohio Mennonite Conference of the Mennonite Church and on several conference commissions and committees. His publications include Preparing for Church Membership: Leaders Guide, Experiencing Christ in the Church, Off to a Good Start, and Jeremiah: A Study Guide.
