Softcover. Condition: Good. Product DescriptionLets face it: we have become obsessed with our stuff. It is this high-tech, ear-catching, eye-popping, toe-tapping commercial-mania that seems to be having such a profound effect on what American consumers believe is imperative for their day-to-day living. As tax-paying citizens in the wealthiest country the world has ever known, we feel entitled to an ideal lifestyle. It is our birthright to be comfortable and cared for. Our cultures message is that we should accept nothing less. Thats why being a follower of Jesus, the Nazarene carpenter, is so revolutionary. And so, so difficult. In both word and deed, he turned the worlds priorities upside down. What Would Jesus Drive takes on the difficult task of answering the questions of how Jesus would live, what he would eat, drive, read, where he would live, work, worship, whom he would marry, befriend, trust, or when he would laugh and cry in America in the 21st century.About the AuthorJim Wilcox wakes up every morning with one goal in mind: to make someone laugh. As he was growing up in San Jose, California, where the mornings can blind you with sunrays and the evening songs can sing you to sleep, his list of what he wanted to be when he grew up was brief. First, he wanted to be a rock n roll singer. Second, he wanted to be a professional comedian. And third, he wanted to be the editor of a small mountain-town weekly newspaper. Well, if youd put a mountain in Oklahoma City, hed be doing all of those things at Southern Nazarene University, where he has taught since 1979. He occasionally performs onstage in many of the university variety shows. He has more than a dozen captive audiences each week in his writing classes, who laugh as they learn. And he is the adviser to the student newspaper. Seller Inventory # SONG0834120968
