How do we conform to the image of Jesus Christ? How do we grow in maturity as believers? How do we truly live out and experience all that God is and all that He offers to us?
The Experiencing God's Story series answers these questions and more through an examination of twelve essential topics of spiritual formation. Presented through the three-step process of spiritual development--believing, behaving, and becoming--each topic examines a passage of Scripture, identifies and explains the theological principles of spiritual formation, and offers personal application for continued spiritual growth.

Believing - Behaving - Becoming
How do we conform to the image of Jesus Christ? How do we grow in maturity as believers? How do we truly live out and experience all that God is and all that He offers to us? The Experiencing God's Story series answers these questions and more, helping us move beyond knowing facts about God to experiencing the grand story of life and hope that God has for each believer.
The Hero Who Restores explores nine key topics in the process of spiritual formation, including humanity, Satan and sin, and foundational Christian principles such as freedom and discipleship. Using his years of experience in studying and teaching the Bible, author Scott Duvall guides Christ followers in understanding what they believe, how they behave, and who they are becoming.
Each book in the Experiencing God's Story series also offers: -An introduction that explores the biblical context -"A Closer Look" to dig deeper into a specific text -Insightful quotes for reflection and action -Application questions for small group interaction -Cross-references for further Bible exploration
J. Scott Duvall is professor of New Testament at Ouachita Baptist University, a liberal-arts Baptist college in Arkansas. He is co-author of the popular Grasping God's Word: A Hands-On Approach to Reading, Interpreting, and Applying the Bible, as well as Preaching God's Word, Biblical Greek Exegesis, and The Story of Israel: A Biblical Theology. He is coeditor of the forthcoming Dictionary of Biblical Prophecy.
