Clyde N. Wilson is a professor of history at the University of South Carolina, USA where he is also the editor of The Papers of John C. Calhoun. His books include From Union to Empire: Essays in the Jeffersonian Tradition and Carolina Cavalier: The Life and Mind of James Johnston Pettigrew.
