Synopsis
This book is particularly relevant to the market because it looks at the issues that directly affect most middle-aged women - empty nest, career changes, relationships, as well as physical and spiritual questions.Using famous spiritual women from the middle ages, it looks at what they said and how this relates to middle age. For example, Julian of Norwich (who despite the name, was a women!) refers to Christ as "our kind mother, our gracious mother" and has a vision of a Christ who allows us to make mistakes. Nobody will have reached middle age without making the odd error or two hundred, so this ideal of Jesus is important.Other women featured are Hildegard of Bingen, Mechthild of Magdeburg or Claire of Assisi. All have something to offer the middle-aged women of today.
