Since the previous edition of this critically acclaimed volume came out, Iraq has experienced a growth in sectarian violence, elections, the establishment of a parliament and constitution, visits from numerous world leaders, criminal proceedings against Saddam Hussein, and the assassination of prominent al-Qaeda member Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Meanwhile, international scrutiny regarding the war continues to increase. "Iraq War, Updated Edition" sheds light on these crucial developments, offering a brand-new chapter that updates the informative text from November 2004 to the present. New photographs illustrate recent events in Iraq, and helpful features such as a glossary of important terms, a further reading list, an index, and box features make this an invaluable and timely resource for middle and high school readers.
