About the Author

Tom Smith holds a B.A. in English literature from Drew University and an M.A. in American literature from Southern Connecticut State University. His graduate work and research assistantship dealt extensively with immigrant literature and history. He has worked for over 25 years as a freelance researcher, writer, and editor.
