About the Author:
Winona LaDuke is an internationally renowned activist working on issues of sustainable development, renewable energy, and food systems. She lives and works on the White Earth reservation in northern Minnesota, and is a two time vice presidential candidate with Ralph Nader for the Green Party.

Di Chiro teaches environmental studies and women's studies at Mount Holyoke College.

Greta Gaard is the author of Ecological Politics: Ecofeminists and the Greens, and editor of Ecofeminism: Women, Animals, Nature. A well-published environmental literature critic, she currently teaches at the University of Wisconsin, River Falls, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Environmental Association for Great Lakes Education.

Hogan is Associate Professor of English and Director of the Student Center for Women at LaGuardia Community College/CUNY.

Julie Sze is Associate Professor of American Studies at UC Davis and founding director of theEnvironmental Justice Project for the John Muir Institute for the Environment at UC Davis. Herfirst book, "Noxious New York" (MIT Press), won the 2008 John Hope Franklin Award for the bestbook published in American Studies.

Robert R.M. Verchick is the Gauthier-St. Martin Chair in Law at Loyola University New Orleans and Senior Fellow at Tulane University s School of Social Work. He is the author of Facing Catastrophe: Environmental Action for a Post-Katrina World.

Yates is a professor emerita of American studies at the University of Minnesota.
