About the Author:

Clark D. Neher, professor of political science and director of the Center for Southeast Asian Studies at Northern Illinois University, taught for seven years in Thailand and the Philippines. He is the author of Politics in Southeast Asia and Democracy and Development in Southeast Asia , with Ross Marlay as well as numerous articles analyzing Southeast Asian politics. His newest book is Patriots and Tyrants in Asia , with Ross Marlay.
