I keep buying copies of Creeker to give to all my favorite people - what a warm, smart, funny, and enlightening book it is. An unusual combination of fierce intelligence, unstinting honesty, and engaging narrative voice makes this a standout memoir. - Lee Smith ""One of the finest autobiographies ever written by a native Kentuckian.... Breaks down stereotypes by honestly portraying what life was like, as only an insider can."" - Lexington Herald-Leader ""Her great gift is to render in absolutely limpid fashion what growing up in Appalachia meant, without a trace of sentimentality.... DeRosier's robust language and mordant humor never flag, and she allows us to see and to hear the Appalachian child in the fifty-something psychology professor from Montana."" - Booklist
A native of eastern Kentucky, Linda Scott DeRosier is professor of psychology at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana. During spring of 2002, she will serve as writer in residence at Pikeville College in Kentucky.
