Combining the personal and the political and promising an insider's view of what happens in Washington, D.C., the second novel by Senator Barbara Boxer is an intriguing and polished look at politics in the near future. Both the novel and the main character's career show improvements since their freshman efforts. While the first book was substantially written when it came to Chronicle, this book has been conceived and created with an eye to positive critical reception as well as commercial success, primarily for women readers.
