About the Author:

The authors, Gay Matthaei and her twin sister Jewel Grutman, live with their families in Connecticut. Illustrator Adam Cvijanovic is a fine artist who lives in New York. He is originally from Serbia. Arthur Amiotte is a Lakota artist, art historian, author and educator who is well versed in the traditions of his tribe. His Lakota name is Good Eagle Center.
