Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 186 pages. This issue features the poem "Children of the Monosyllable" by Clayton Eshleman, the venerable & prolific poet, translator & scholar who has long resided near us in Michigan, our friend & mentor. On the title page, Eshleman has hand-written & signed: "For Jim Perrizo-/ first published draft/ of this poem./ second: in Sulfur/ third: in "Hotel Cro-/ magnon"/ (signed) Clayton Eshleman/ 1988." James Perrizo (1944-2006) was a dedicated Beat-&-Beyond scholar & collector, who knew & particularly emphasized Eshleman in his studies & collections. In this inscription, Eshleman refers to Sulfur, the title of the acclaimed literary journal that he edited & contributed to; & to a volume of his collected poetry, Hotel Cro-Magnon (1989). Other contributors in this issue include many esteemed poets & writers such as Andre Codrescu, Robert Gluck, Ezra Pound & Delmore Schwartz. Laughlin himself contributed a comic-erotic poem with illustration & notes in the French language (all other writings in this volume are in English). Seller Inventory # SL12332
