About the Author:

Robert Spaemann is professor emeritus of philosophy at the University of Munich. He has also held positions at the Universities of Stuttgart and Heidelberg. His many books in German and English include Persons: The Difference between ""Someone"" and ""Something"" (with Oliver ODonovan) and Happiness and Benevolence.
