About the Author:
Deborah Posel is director of Humanities in Africa (HUMA) at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She is coeditor of Commissioning the Past: Understanding South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Fiona Ross is associate professor in the department of social anthropology at the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
