In this candid autobiography, available in paperback for the first time, one of the female founders of rock & roll recounts her astonishingly dramatic life, filled with early poverty, tragic deaths, a non-existent childhood, a controlling manager, young elopement, illness, barely averted financial disaster, and one of show business's most durable marriages. And through it all Brenda Lee kept on singing and racking up the hits. Her inspirational life has influenced some of the most legendary names in entertainment such as Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison and Elton John. For all fans of country music and rock & roll this book is an essential read.
