Benson was the youngest son of the Archbishop of Canterbury, and born in 1871. In his 20s, he began questioning his Anglican upbringing, and became a Catholic priest in 1904. At the same time as he was preaching, he also began writing, and went on to publish Lord of the World (1907), an early example of the modern Dystopian novel. He had a close friendship with Baron Corvo and Lord Alfred Douglas, and never married. Seller Inventory # 279393
