About the Author:

Mark Elliott first visited Brussels at the grand age of nine and blames the Atomium for a misguided childhood fascination with chemistry. Enlightened Belgian cousins revealed to him the charms of Kwak, soukous music and the Forêt de Soignes, yet he fled east. But after three years of squid and blues harmonica, Elliott left his temporarily adopted Japanese island exile, heading home for the UK. So far, he s only made it as far as Belgium where he s been living ever since with a very special woman who found him at a Turkmenistan camel market. Elliott has written several travel guidebooks, including Asia Overland (1998), Azerbaijan with Georgia (1999, 2001, 2004), South-East Asia Graphic Guide (2003, http://www.trailblazer-guides.com) and has contributed to numerous Lonely Planet guides.
