Synopsis

Steeped in mystery, suspense and the vibrancy of the Mediterranean, Akin to Love is a romantic drama, a powerful tale of bitter regrets, passion and betrayal. Penny Morrison is a glamorous international star. She has written a film script which is a guaranteed success. The story is a thinly disguised retelling of her youthful relationship with the painter Harry Knowle, a man she met when she was a struggling actress visiting Crete as a backpacker. There she fell in love with Harry and discovered romantic Greece as well as the dark side of the dictatorship. When the film star Penny returns to Crete to shoot she once again finds herself under the spell of the mysterious island. And when her past catches up with her present she is forced to confront a memory long hidden even from herself.
