Daud Ali lectures in Early South Asian History at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. His writing includes publications on a wide range of ancient Indian subjects, including monarchy, women, cosmology and Hinduism. Fiona MacDonald is a highly experienced child's author specialising in history. She has written or contributed to a number of books, including a book on the art of keeping clean, which won the Times Educational Supplement's Senior Information Book award of the year. Lorna Oakes lectures regularly at the British Museum and Birkbeck College, London. She has also led many lecture tours to Egypt and Syria. Philip Steele is a historian specialising in writing books for the children's market.
