From the author of FIRMIN, a tale of life and literature.

Review:

The Cry of the Sloth is the funniest anatomy of literary mediocrity since Max Beerbohm's Enoch Soames (John Sutherland THE TIMES)

most of the novel consists of Whittakers hilarious rejection letters to wannabe authors.. Savage works page after page of delightful variations on this theme (Ian Sansom THE GUARDIAN)

A funny and pathetic sequence of letters.. written over the course of several months (Michael Caines TIMES LITERARY SUPPLEMENT)

About the Author:

A native of South Carolina now living in Madison, Wisconsin, Sam Savage received his bachelor and doctoral degrees in philosophy from Yale University where he taught briefly. He has worked as a bicycle mechanic, carpenter, commercial fisherman and letterpress printer.

From the author of FIRMIN, a tale of life and literature.Surviving on a diet of fried Spam and vodka, Andrew Whittaker is the editor of a small and slightly dingy literary magazine - SOAP: A JOURNAL OF THE ARTS.
