This is my tenth novel! Surely a cause for celebration. I
thought it would be fun to compare someone who was trying to get their big
break in one of those television talent shows - mine is called The Fame
Game - with the life of a huge established star. The world of opera
offered me a great opportunity for comic and romantic situations. For a
year I sat in on rehearsals, talked to singers and attended performances.
At one point I thought I was going to start singing in a rich baritone!
