About the Author:

Beatrix Potter is one of the world's best-loved children's authors of all time. From her first book, The Tale of Peter Rabbit (1902) she went on to create a series of stories based around animal characters including Mrs Tiggy-winkle, Mr Jeremy Fisher and Tom Kitten. Her humorous, lively tales and beautiful illustrations have become a natural part of childhood.

A source of inspiration was the Lake District where she lived for the last thirty years of her life as a farmer and conservationist.

Book Description Hardcover. Condition: New. 15 X 11 CM- " Beatrix Potter (illustrator). Reprint 1986.- "Once upon a time there was a Pussy-cat called Ribby, who invited a little dog called Duchess, to tea." 'The Tale of the Pie and the Patty-Pan' features the houses, gardens and streets of the village of Sawrey, where Beatrix Potter lived, at Hill Top, her first farm. The inhabitants, however, are animals rather than people, & problems arise when a singular cat invites a slightly-finnicky dog over to visit. . Now, with all the original text in a fully illustrated Worthington Press edition, Beatrix Potter's animal stories have been a joy to generations of young readers. Her warm, playful illustrations in soft colors invite children into the world of words and flights of fancy. Once there, she gently and humorously guides readers along the path of righteousness, leaving just enough room for children to wonder if that incorrigible Peter will be back in McGregor's garden tomorrow. Helen Beatrix Potter (1866 - 1943) was an English writer, illustrator, natural scientist, and conservationist best known for her children's books featuring animals, her first and perhaps most famous being The Tale of Peter Rabbit. In all, Potter wrote thirty books; the best known being her twenty-three children's tales. Frederick Warne & Co was founded in 1865 by London bookseller and publisher, Frederick Warne. I Hardcover has white laminated covers with full color illustrations front & rear, black lettering on spine & front cover. No DJ. Seller Inventory # 021315
