Book Description Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. Elisabeth Trimby (illustrator). 1st Edition. Isn't there a thing in the acting profession that doesn't allow two thespians to have the same name? A similar strategy would be useful for authors. It can be very confusing - I think immediately of Richard Kennedy, John Gardner, and Rosemary Harris. So, let's get one thing straight: this is not the English-born American author of paranormal and historical romances whose books seem mainly to feature the naked, muscle-bound torsos of virile men on the covers. No, this is the respected English-born English author of some excellent historical novels for children. This particular story is set in 1595 and touches on the European spy and counterspy network and religious intolerance. A faint line on bottom edge, almost hidden close to the spine is, I presume, a remainder mark, but a near fine copy in near fine, very slightly rubbed dust jacket with a hint of wear at extremities.
