About the Author:
Thomas Hinde's first novel, Mr Nicholas, was published in 1952. Since then he has written fourteen others including the Day the Call Came and High. He has also written various works of non-fiction on subjects ranging from British forests and English public schools to a biography of Capability Brown. He has four children, eight grandchildren and lives with his wife in Sussex.
