Synopsis:

1812. America and Britain are on the brink of war. American-born Sarah Dunthorne is visiting her grandmother, Lady MacKenna, in London. Sarah is compromised when she assists Corinne de Vere, ward of and heir to Colonel, Lord Wrenningham. He is determined the rebellious couple shall never inherit his estate at Ashingby. Physically attracted to Sarah, Wrenningham proposes but she will not marry without love. Grandmama is furious and sends Sarah home to her parents, on the same ship as Wrenningham who is taking reinforcements to Canada. Then war is declared. As the couple journey on through danger and difficulties, will they find love?

About the Author:

Olga Sinclair was born, and has lived, in Norfolk all her life. She was a Justice of the Peace for twenty-seven years as well as serving in the A.T.S during WWII. She is currently President of Norwich Writers' Circle. This is her eighth novel published by Robert Hale.
