The general aim of The New Interpreter's Bible is to bring the best in contemporary biblical scholarship into the service of the church to enhance preaching, teaching, and study of the Scriptures. To accomplish that general aim, the design has been shaped by two controlling principles: (1) form serves function, and (2) maximize ease of use.
