Looks nice enough (with tear mostly invisible) in Brodart cover. Inscribed on front endpaper: "To 'Lib'/ my foremost fan/ Bud" and then below: "Arthur Davies/ June 27/77." Laid in is a November 1977 postcard from "Jean and Bud" (Davies' nickname, evidently) to "Lib and Henry." Along with his brother, novelist Robertson, Davies owned and edited a pair of Canadian newspapers. "Death Plays a Duet," his second and final novel, is far less common than its predecessor, "Sketches, Scholars, and Scandals of a Quiet College Town." 143 pages. Inscribed by Author(s).
