Synopsis:

A text designed to help future teachers understand multiculturalism and learn to apply non-biased, non-sexist, multicultural teaching methods to create more effective, enlightened classroom instruction. Using the characteristics of culture as a framework for discussion, the authors define multiculturalism as more than simple ethnicity, and show how individuals and families are members of a number of microcultures that reach beyond heritage or country of origin.
