Myron Uhlberg was the firstborn of deaf parents in a time before television and he developed an early love for the magic of words. He is now a full-time writer living in California. His grandmother introduced him to the 'mad dog' that inspired his book.
Lydia Monks was born in England and currently lives in London. She has an honours degree in illustration from Kingston University, Surrey. She has worked for newspapers and magazines and has illustrated many children's books.
