About the Author:

Heidi Joulios is a native of San Francisco where she pursued a love of the arts. She enjoyed teaching art to children and opening their eyes to the world and its history. Joulios was inspired by the experience of growing up in a creative family, observing her mother, a painter, and grandfather, a writer. She lives in Davis, California, with her family and their beloved basset hound Huckleberry. A native of San Francisco, Joan Alioto taught elementary school for many years. She was inspired at an early age by the enthusiasm of her fourth grade teacher's love for books. A treasured book, signed by Laura Ingalls Wilder, led to her desire to write children's stories. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and looking at the world through their eyes. She currently resides in Davis, California, with her two dogs Barbie and Max.
