About the Author:
Donald Spoto is the author of fifteen books, among them The Dark Side of Genius: The Life of Alfred Hitchcock, which won the Edgar Award for Best Nonfiction Book of the Year in 1984, and biographies of Tennessee Williams, Laurence Olivier, Marlene Dietrich, Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, James Dean, and Ingrid Bergman. His The Decline and Fall of the House of Windsor is a history of the Royal Family from Victoria to Diana. Spoto, who earned his Ph.D. degree from Fordham University, taught college for many years before devoting himself full-time to writing. He lectures worldwide and received the prestigious Le Prix Star in 1993, France's highest award given to a writer. He lives in Beverly Hills, California
