Synopsis:
Two children lose their brand new pet pigeon. Will its homing instincts bring it back? Barnaby and Flora have just moved to the countryside, where everything is new and unfamiliar to them. When they see tame pigeons flocking around old Gabriel, their neighbour, Barnaby is so impressed that he rushes off to buy a pigeon of his own. He calls her Jewel and makes her a nest in the garden shed. But Jewel soon escapes. Barnaby can only wait, and hope, for her return. Meanwhile he and Flora learn all about pigeon keeping from Old Gabriel, who becomes a valued friend.
