In this spiritual memoir Marian Eisenmann invites readers on a journey as she shares personal reflections on grief and loss. Drawing from her experience as a nurse, pastor, and hospital chaplain, Marian shares her love of storytelling by inviting you, the reader, into the story. Beginning with the premise that grief is something we all share, she provides insight and practical suggestions for working through grief and finding hope in the midst of despair. “Grief is an emotional wound,” states Eisenmann, “affecting every part of our being—body, mind, and spirit. There is no way to put a timetable on the grieving process. As individuals, we are unique, and grief will be different for each one of us.” Stressing the importance of living with questions, self-care, and a process of “letting go” and “moving on,” Marian shares uplifting stories of faith, courage, and hope from her personal experience and from others who have walked the journey. Readers will benefit by gaining a better understanding of their own grief and also helpful insight into supporting others who are grieving. Woven throughout the book are meaningful scripture passages and thought-provoking questions for reflection.
