Colour illustrated dustwrapper (wraparound), by Jerome Gask, black and red coloured titles to the front panel and black coloured titles to the backstrip. A captain, who is old, outdated and tired as his starship, is progressively removed from his position by his first officer  young, keen, ruthless and ambitious, as they seek their quarry. As the time limit for the pursuit winds down " . an appalling truth dawns which precipitate a final crisis." -- from the front fold over panel blurb. Softening of the backstrip edges along with some fading. Rubbing to the book corners, lower book edges dust marks to the top book edges. Age toning of the textblock edges. A few blue coloured ink marks to the top right-hand corner of the free front end paper. Chipping to the backstrip edges and dustwrapper corners. Rubbing to the dustwrapper panels and edges and there is a 0.25" tear to the top edge of the front dustwrapper panel, and a similar tear to the lower edge of the same panel, both with associated creasing.
