Gardener's World began in 1969 and is the BBC's longest running gardening programme. Under a series of hosts it has slowly but surely captured generations of new gardeners and, with today's explosion of interest in instant gardening, has a stabilising effect, bringing true gardening information to gardeners and not just quick-fix makeovers.
