Computer icon, Frank Whitman, CEO of Whitman Technologies, is a man grown accustomed to winning. He has become obsessed with capturing big fish, and views the world of big game fishing as merely another arena of competition for the rich and famous.
Whitman desperately covets an invitation to the exclusive Hemingway Blue Marlin Tournament held annually in Santa Fe, Cuba during the month of June. In spite of his vast newly created wealth, he lacks the connections to have an invite extended his way.
Whitman's investigations lead him to a famous old marlin fisherman, Capt. Louis Gladding, who grew up in Cuba and has personally fished with the Premier himself. He traces the old captain to a small town in coastal Florida, and sends his personal aide on ahead to lure 'Cuban Louie' away from his charterboat to help get him in and win the big event. Whitman also realizes the huge computer markets laying dormant in the Carribbean which will surely open up when the Cuban power structure begins to break down.
Although the aide, Scott Byrd, is in the employ of Frank Whitman, he has been planted as a spy to undermine and eventually betray the best efforts of Whitman and his new crew.
Tragic consequences ensue, climaxing with an intense hunt and capture of a mighty, winning Blue Marlin.

"Big fish stories are exciting. The moment I picked up the book it hardly left my side.Having been involved in the industry for over twenty years the book took me back into a world of excitement and intrigue. Hats off to the author with hopes that it will become an awesome movie."-Capt. John Blumenthal
"This was a great story and I rarely put the book down. The details and quest for a big blue marlin hit home, and the suspense was a bonus. A great book for fishermen and non-fishermen alike."-Willis Milner, a reviewer
"Absolutely a wonderful account, the author obviously knows his fishing. He spins a beautiful tale that blends 'fishing from the heart' and the awe of the ocean with corporate intrigue and espionage. My first five star rating, can't wait for the sequel."-Capt. Jerry Synder
"This story captures the real joy of fishing with some intrigue and adventure added in. Beautiful descriptions of the ocean and weather along with great characters and dialogue makes you feel that you are right there where the action is taking place. The plot moves along nicely with intrigue and double cross, I look forward to a sequel of the exploits of the seasoned crew." -William C Fowle, a fisherman of fifty years.
"It was great to finally read a book that contains the real story of big game fishing. There were times reading the book that my eyes welled up with tears in the emotional description of the hero's journey. Either I'm getting old or it was a great read! Would recommend it to anyone who likes a Hemingway title or just has a love for the sea." John Dial
"Thanks for the book, Capt. Charley, what a great read! Reminds me of the old days before the seventy foot clorox bottles. Just like an old vintage guitar."-Deering Howe, a Rybovich owner
