A Near Fine 1st edition hardcover, in Very Good dustjacket. Book is in clean orange cloth boards, with bright gilt title. There is some light bumping to spine heel, and a little light rubbing to spine head and heel. Internally, no writing or stamps. Clean, bright pages throughout.Unclipped dustjacket is a little bumped and rubbed to spine heel, and very lightly edge-worn. There is a small crease to front flap. Carefully packaged and despatched within 48 hours from our wee bookshop in Scotland.

Angry crowds strung up his corpse, spat on it, stoned it, and otherwise desecrated it. Starting on the 25th, with the American and British troops closing in, and the Partisan forces reclaiming Italy, Mussolini, having retreated to Milan, was desperately searching for a way to cling to life and power; with him was his mistress, his ministers and the SS troops assigned to his protection.
